After several seasons of gimmicky and sometimes outright ugly clothing and an obsession with logo-heavy product, I think quiet luxury has more to do with a much-needed industry re-set and consistent luxury consumers wanting to look less like TikTok influencers than a recession.

Using art or subversive material to sell product is nothing new, and fashion has a long history of seeking to push the boundaries of acceptability. But sexualizing children or seemingly promoting child exploitation backfired on Balenciaga and someone inside the organization should have been protecting the Balenciaga brand.
